Vlajku tvoří červený uhlopříčný kříž, nad kterým se nachází znak Jersey doplněn o korunu Plantagenetů.

The flag is white with a red saltire. Above this saltire appear the arms of Jersey with the Plantagenet crown.

Současná vlajka byla poprvé vztyčena v 1981 (200 let bitvy o Jersey), přestože návrhy na přijetí nové vlajky se objevily již při královnině výročí v roce 1977. Tato vlajka byla přijata 12. června 1979. Královna ji uznala 10.prosince 1980.

The current flag was officially hoisted for the first time in 1981 (bicentenary of the battle of Jersey) although the proposal for the adoption of a new flag dated back to the Queen's Silver Jubilee year of 1977. The States of Jersey approved the new design on 12 June 1979. The Queen officially issued the proclamation of the new flag on 10 December 1980.

Přestože svatý Patrik nemá s Jersey nic společného je tato vlajka často popisována jako vlajka svatého Patrika (symbol Irska na vlajce Velké Británie viz). Neexistuje žádná zmínka naznačující spojení mezi osobou svatého Patrika a červeným křížem na bílém poli. Ke spojení jména svatého Patrika s tímto symbolem došlo při ustavení Řádu svatého Patrika (1783) a bylo rozšířeno, když se termín "kříž svatého Patrika" začal používat při popisu Union Jacku (1801).

Although St Patrick had nothing to do with Jersey, a red saltier on a white ground is commonly called St Patrick's cross (Irish flag on flag of Great Britain see). There may not be any sound evidence linking Saint Patrick, as a person, to a red saltier on white, but the connection, between St Patrick, as a name, and a red saltier on white, was made when the Order of Saint Patrick was established in 1783, and extended when the term "Cross Saltier of St Patrick" was used in the blazon of the Union Jack in 1801.
